In 2007, I (Nicole) became the surprised new owner of a rabbit named Frank. Over the next few months, I learned a lot about pet rabbit care and behaviour by reading articles, blogs, and discussion boards online, but I struggled to find in Toronto the products and services I was reading about. So I started the Toronto Rabbit Cooperative, which at that time was a single web page where I listed the local stores I'd found selling pet rabbit supplies. My intention was to build a directory of listings for pet rabbit supplies and services in the Greater Toronto Area.
Since then, the Toronto Rabbit Cooperative has grown a lot. We've been a WebRing site, a Facebook group, a Facebook page, a Twitter feed, a Delicious feed, a Wordpress blog, and a name in the online rabbit forums. We've made caresheets, and answered people's questions about how and where to find the rabbity things they need. We've been there for you, and we're not going anywhere!
Do you want to participate? The more, the merrier! You could like our Facebook page, or follow us on Twitter! Submit your local tips to the Listings, and post your bunny's photo to the BunWall! Or maybe you want in on the back-end? You could help build our social network, develop caresheets, or work on a local outreach initiative! Maybe you're from another group, and you'd like to join forces on a project? Please contact me with your ideas, I'd love to hear from you!
